Policies and standards
The standards we hold ourselves to, and how to raise a concern about our work.
Where we are
SVP International is being established as a non-profit organisation in the United States. Our board is in development. Pending its formation, we have adopted four core policies on an interim basis, and further policies are in preparation. This page sets out our policies and the commitments we make publicly.
Our commitments
Zero tolerance of abuse, fraud and corruption
We maintain a zero-tolerance position towards sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH), fraud and corruption. We expect everyone who works with us, including service providers and partners, to uphold these standards both during and outside working hours.
Raising a concern
Anyone can raise a concern or give feedback about our work through our grievance response mechanism (GRM), in English or Myanmar language. You can report misconduct, including abuse, exploitation, harassment, fraud or misuse of aid, and you can stay anonymous. Raising a concern will never affect anyone’s access to help.
Protecting people in what we publish
To protect the communities and colleagues we serve, we keep identifying details private. Our public communications do not identify the people supported by our colleagues in Myanmar, and name places only at state or region level.
Privacy
Our privacy notice explains what information we collect when you visit this website or contact us, and how we protect it.
Our policies
Pending the formation of our board, we have adopted the following policies on an interim basis:
- Safeguarding
- Prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PSEAH)
- Code of conduct
- Child protection
They apply to everyone who works for or represents SVP International.
Policies in preparation
We are preparing policies on conflict of interest, data protection, image and story consent, and financial controls.
